MEDIA ADVISORY | MARCH 4, 2002

Media and Technology Expert Jack Powers Featured at WITI/COMDEX Chicago

Women in Technology International and COMDEX Chicago are sponsoring a talk on Tuesday, March 5 by Jack Powers, director of New York's International Informatics Institute, on the gadgets and gizmos for living digitally at work, at home and on the road. Jack will discuss wearable computers, artificial intelligence, networked houses, voice interfaces, video on your cell phone and the spread of the  Internet everywhere.

Powers can also discuss his upcoming National Association of Broadcasters keynote "Creating Content for Anyone, Anywhere on Any Device" about the new developments in pervasive entertainment, media bots and movies everywhere.

He can talk about his recent appearances at Internet World Wireless in New York on mobile electronic commerce, advertising on your cell phone, the wirefree enterprise and the upcoming revolution in SMS (Short Message Service) that will soon be spreading to the U.S. from Europe. (30 billion cell-to-cell text messages are sent every month worldwide.)

For media firms, Powers' "Do-It-Yourself Publishing" talk at the Seybold NY show last week provided tips on creating print, broadcast and web publications cheaply and effectively, and it focused on the abundant and mostly free resources available from the Open Source movement.

For technology audiences, he can analyze the latest developments in practical artificial intelligence and describe the work he's doing for his one-day "Artificial Intelligence Forum" at Internet World Spring in Los Angeles in April.

Jack will be in Chicago Monday and Tuesday, March 4 and 5.
